To bolster national security and combat rising extremist threats, the Malian government has officially announced financial rewards for the capture of seven prominent terrorist commanders. Each bounty ranges between 500 million and 2 billion West African CFA francs, signaling a decisive escalation in the fight against insurgent groups operating across the Sahel.
A formal statement from the Ministry of Security declared, « The Government of Mali will reward reliable, actionable intelligence leading to the arrest or neutralization of the following individuals. » Authorities emphasized the urgency of this measure, citing the ongoing risk posed by these operatives to civilian safety and regional stability.
The list includes some of the most wanted figures in the Sahel, such as Iyad Ag Ghali (2 billion FCFA), Hamadoun Hassan Sankaré, known as Amadou Kouffa (1.5 billion FCFA), and Abdoulaye Mahamadou Bekaye Diallo, alias Doulé Bib de Nampala (1.5 billion FCFA). Alghabass Ag Intallah is also targeted, with a 1 billion FCFA reward for information leading to his capture.
Investigators allege these individuals play central roles in orchestrating deadly attacks, recruiting fighters, and destabilizing communities across Mali. Their alleged involvement spans bombings, armed assaults, and cross-border incursions, prompting intensified military and intelligence operations.
Civilian cooperation is now more critical than ever. Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to security forces immediately. « Every piece of information can make a difference, » officials stated, encouraging communities to play an active role in dismantling terrorist networks.
