Colonel michaël randrianirina concludes insightful Libreville tour

On the second day of his official journey to Libreville, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, who leads the Refoundation of the Republic of Madagascar, embarked on a comprehensive tour of several iconic landmarks within the Gabonese capital this past Saturday, June 6. Accompanied by Hermann Immongault, the Vice-President of the government, Colonel Randrianirina explored sites such as the Cité Émeraude, the scenic Baie des Rois, and the prestigious Cité de la Démocratie. During his visit to the latter, he notably toured the grand banquet hall, the expansive Congress Palace, and the Omar Bongo Ondimba museum.

Following this extensive exploration, described as a “tourism marathon,” the Malagasy leader shared his reflections, stating that his observations in Gabon underscored a continent undergoing profound transformation. He emphasized that these achievements vividly demonstrate the commitment of African leaders to modernize their nations and accelerate development. “Everything I witnessed in Gabon exemplifies the determination of numerous African presidents to modernize and advance their countries and the broader African continent,” he affirmed. While acknowledging that Madagascar’s ‘refoundation’ process would not be an identical replication of the Gabonese model due to differing circumstances, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina commended the significant progress made by Gabonese authorities during their transitional period.

He expressed admiration for Gabon’s ability to achieve certain objectives that were widely considered challenging, if not impossible, within such a short timeframe. Consequently, he articulated his intention to draw valuable insights from Gabon’s experience to bolster the ongoing national renewal efforts in his own country.

“As was mentioned earlier, we aim to learn from Gabon’s journey to successfully guide Madagascar’s refoundation process, with the goal of bringing the nation to presidential elections as swiftly as possible,” he highlighted. His primary objective is clearly to steer Madagascar towards a presidential election without undue delay. Colonel Michaël Randrianirina departed Libreville yesterday, having concluded his visit by mid-morning.
