Fbi deputy director praises Morocco’s vital role in 2026 world cup security
Christopher Raia, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Deputy Director, recently visited the International Police Cooperation Center (IPCC). This crucial hub brings together law enforcement and security agency representatives from all nations participating in the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
The visit was a key component of the extensive, high-level security framework established for all World Cup fixtures. During his time at the IPCC, the senior American official held a dedicated meeting with representatives from Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) cluster.
Deputy Director Raia conveyed his sincere appreciation for Morocco’s active involvement in the event’s security efforts and its significant contributions across all stages of the tournament. He emphasized that the FBI views the Kingdom of Morocco as a highly dependable partner, distinguished by its internationally acknowledged expertise and proven credibility in security matters.

Furthermore, Christopher Raia addressed representatives from various foreign security services present at the IPCC. In his remarks, he underscored the paramount importance of international partnerships and multilateral cooperation, particularly concerning intelligence sharing, for the comprehensive security apparatus of the World Cup, which the United States is co-organizing.
He further highlighted the immense challenge of safeguarding 78 football matches within a span of nearly two weeks, an objective he firmly stated would be unachievable without robust international collaboration.
Raia also pointed to a notable increase in the number of threats successfully neutralized by American authorities within their own borders. He attributed this success directly to the precision of intelligence shared and the unwavering support provided by international partner nations.
