Mali offers up to 2 billion cfa for tips on terror suspects
The Malian government has unveiled a sweeping bounty initiative, offering financial rewards ranging from 500 million to 2 billion West African CFA francs for credible information leading to the capture or neutralization of seven high-profile terrorism suspects.
This decisive move was confirmed in an official statement signed by Mali’s Minister of Security and Civil Protection, General Daoud Aly Mohammedine. The initiative underscores the administration’s intensified commitment to combating terrorism and safeguarding national stability.
Each of the wanted individuals is accused of playing a critical role in planning, orchestrating, or executing violent attacks that have endangered both civilian lives and property across Mali.
The list includes:
- Iyad Ag Ghali (alias Abou Al-Fadel);
- Hamadoun Hassan Sangaré (also known as Amadou Kouffa or Môbbô);
- Abdoulaye Mamadou Bakaye Diallo (alias Jouleybib de Nampala or Sidi);
- Alghabass Ag Intalla;
- Sedan Ag Hita (also referred to as Outhman Al Ansari, Abdel Hakim Al Kidali, and Al Qayrawani);
- Bilal Ag Acherif;
- Abderrahmane Al-Batna Al-Jazairi.
The government emphasized that these suspects remain the focus of ongoing manhunts conducted by specialized security units due to their alleged involvement in recent terrorist operations across the country.
In a public appeal, authorities are urging citizens to remain alert and collaborate closely with defense and security forces. They are calling on anyone with actionable intelligence—whether related to the suspects’ whereabouts or their planned activities—to share such information immediately with the appropriate authorities.
The announcement follows a period of intensified counterterrorism operations across multiple regions of Mali, as authorities intensify efforts to dismantle armed extremist networks.
