The Kingdom of Morocco has officially signed an agreement to join the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza, marking a significant step in its commitment to regional peace and security. The accord, signed at the headquarters of the National Defense Administration in Rabat, formalizes Morocco’s participation in humanitarian and security operations aimed at fostering stability in the war-torn region.

The signing ceremony was attended by Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad, alongside Abdeltif Loudyi, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense Administration. Also present were high-ranking military officials, including the Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and the Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie.

Representing the ISF and the Gaza Peace Council was Nickolay Mladenov, the High Representative for Peace in Gaza. The delegation also included key figures from the Gaza Peace Council and the ISF command structure.

strengthening regional security through multilateral cooperation

During the meeting, Moroccan officials underscored the Kingdom’s long-standing dedication to peacekeeping and conflict resolution, highlighting its extensive experience in United Nations-backed peace operations. The participation in the ISF aligns with Morocco’s broader strategy of promoting regional integration and social progress, initiatives championed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

The agreement formalizes Morocco’s contributions, which include deploying senior officers from the Royal Armed Forces to the ISF joint command, personnel from the Royal Gendarmerie, and the National Security Directorate (DGSN). Additionally, Morocco will establish a field military hospital as part of its humanitarian support.
