Motion of no confidence: Ousmane Sonko ready to challenge Al Aminou Lo’s government

Motion de censure : Ousmane Sonko prêt à faire tomber le gouvernement d’Al Aminou Lo

Ousmane Sonko has issued a firm warning, indicating his readiness to file a motion of no confidence against the current government. Speaking during a gathering in Touba, the prominent PASTEF leader made it clear that his party would not hesitate to deploy this parliamentary mechanism to challenge practices deemed unacceptable.

At a recent event in Touba, held as part of PASTEF’s 48-hour activities, Ousmane Sonko explicitly stated his intention to initiate a motion of no confidence against the government led by Prime Minister Al Aminou Lo. The leader of PASTEF emphasized that his political movement would resort to this legislative tool if it perceived a continuation of the administration’s current policies and orientations.

“We will utilize every legal avenue available to us, including the motion of no confidence, to bring down the government, and we will do so as many times as necessary,” Ousmane Sonko declared to his party’s supporters. The president of PASTEF justified this resolute stance by asserting that his political organization cannot condone actions that contradict the fundamental principles for which its members have tirelessly advocated and fought.

“We endured a decade of struggle, marked by immense sacrifices and the loss of martyrs. We will not permit such practices to become entrenched,” he affirmed. Through this powerful statement, Ousmane Sonko positions the motion of no confidence as a central element of his political strategy against the present government. He views this parliamentary recourse as a legitimate and essential means to oppose decisions he disapproves of, reiterating PASTEF’s unwavering commitment to employ it whenever circumstances demand such decisive action.
