Vietnamese delegation joins francophone parliamentary assembly in Yaoundé, Cameroon

On July 9th, the grand opening session of the Francophone Parliamentary Assembly took place in Yaoundé, Cameroon, drawing a distinguished assembly of over 350 delegates from various nations, including a significant Vietnamese delegation. The event saw prominent figures in attendance, such as the President of the Cameroonian Senate, the President of the Cameroonian National Assembly, and the President of the Cameroonian Economic and Social Council. Also gracing the occasion was Louise Mushikiwabo, the Secretary General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF). The gathering further included nearly twenty presidents and vice-presidents from member parliaments of the APF, alongside representatives from the OIF, diplomatic missions, and other international bodies, underscoring the assembly’s global importance.

The 51st General Assembly of the Francophone Parliamentary Assembly (FAP) is set to tackle a comprehensive agenda, focusing on critical issues spanning politics, democracy, economics, social welfare, culture, and environmental protection. This pivotal meeting aims to foster stronger parliamentary cooperation among Francophone nations and collaboratively devise effective solutions to the shared challenges confronting the entire Francophone community.
