ALGIERS – A pivotal agreement was formally signed in Algiers on Thursday, marking a significant step towards enhancing energy infrastructure in Chad. Mourad Adjal, Algeria’s Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, and Passalé Kanabé Marcelin, Chad’s Minister of Water and Energy, formalized a deal for the construction of a 40-megawatt (MW) electricity production plant in N’Djamena, the Chadian capital.

This initiative underscores a firm commitment to bolster cooperation between the two nations, aligning with the strategic vision of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. President Tebboune has consistently advocated for robust support to African countries and the advancement of South-South cooperation, emphasizing collaborative development across the continent. The N’Djamena power plant project is a tangible manifestation of this directive, promising to provide much-needed electricity and contribute to Chad’s energy security and economic growth.
