The inauguration, held on Friday, June 26, 2026, was graced by the presence of the Minister of Commerce and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Cameroonian entrepreneur Lisette Claudia Tame officially unveiled her state-of-the-art Denky agro-industrial plant in Badenkop, situated within the Bangou district of the Hauts-Plateaux Region in Western Cameroon. This ambitious project aligns seamlessly with Cameroon’s national import-substitution policy and the overarching objectives outlined in the SND30 development strategy.

Driven by Meta Invest, this initiative signifies a pivotal advancement in the local transformation of agricultural produce. The grand opening ceremony saw the participation of two prominent Cameroonian government officials: Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, the Minister of Commerce, and Gabriel Mbairobe, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. BGFIBank Cameroun provided the essential financing and support for this impressive infrastructure. Remarkably, this marks the third factory established by the dynamic young entrepreneur across the nation in under two years.

Lisette Claudia Tame highlighted that the Denky plant specializes in processing maize, sugar, plantain, and potatoes. Its core mission is to generate employment opportunities, mitigate rural exodus, enhance the value of domestic agricultural output, and contribute significantly to achieving the goals of the SND30. This represents a crucial stride in promoting local processing for sustainable development.

The facility boasts an impressive annual processing capacity, estimated to range between 5,200 and over 6,000 tonnes of locally sourced agricultural products. Furthermore, the industrial unit is strategically located on a three-hectare site generously provided by the State. The project is projected to create between 350 and more than 550 direct jobs, playing a vital role in curbing rural migration.
