Chad-CAR joint forces boost border security efforts
The military authorities of Chad and the Central African Republic are stepping up joint efforts to enhance security along their shared border. A strategic meeting, led by Brigadier General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor, reviewed recent joint operations and identified key security challenges in the region.
The gathering brought together high-ranking military officials from both nations involved in the Chad-CAR joint force, which patrols the border to counter cross-border threats. Discussions centered on the outcomes of “Al-Hamamia 1” and “Al-Hamamia 2” operations, as well as persistent security concerns in certain border zones.
During the talks, participants explored advanced tactics to bolster defense and security presence in high-risk areas. Brigadier General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor, commander of the Chad-CAR joint force, endorsed the “Sentinelle” mission plan proposed by the G5 Sahel cell. This upcoming operation will deploy additional military units equipped with fixed and mobile surveillance posts.
The goal is to tighten monitoring of suspicious activities, accelerate response times, and strengthen security cooperation between Chad and the Central African Republic. According to General Hor, these measures will significantly improve protection for border communities and enhance the region’s resilience against evolving threats.
