Chad dispatches high-level delegation to Cameroon with presidential message

On Friday, July 17, 2026, Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno dispatched a significant delegation to Yaoundé, Cameroon, carrying a private message for his Cameroonian counterpart, President Paul Biya.

Leading this diplomatic mission was Dr. Abdoulaye Sabre Fadoul, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, and Chadians Abroad. He was accompanied by key figures including Mahamat Saleh Abdeldjelil, special advisor to the Head of State; Fatima Haram Acyl, Minister of Petroleum, Mines, and Geology; and Hassan Adoum Younousmi, Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ARSAT).

With President Biya currently abroad, the Chadian representatives were received at the prestigious Etoudi Palace by Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, the Minister of State and Secretary General of the Presidency of Cameroon.

While the specific details of the presidential message remain confidential, the delegation’s leader affirmed that its purpose was to underscore the exceptional relationship between the two heads of state and their respective nations. This initiative, he explained, reflects the strong desire of both countries’ highest authorities to further enhance bilateral cooperation and maintain ongoing dialogue on matters of mutual importance.

Beyond the formal delivery of the presidential dispatch, the discussions extended to exploring future cooperation avenues across several strategic sectors vital for both the Chadian and Cameroonian economies. These talks specifically addressed strengthening partnerships in economic development, energy resources, and infrastructure projects, all within a shared vision of deepening sub-regional integration.

This diplomatic endeavor serves as a continuation of the long-standing, privileged relationship that N’Djamena and Yaoundé have cultivated over many decades. It powerfully demonstrates both states’ unwavering commitment to fostering a continuous framework for consultation and reinforcing the historical, political, and economic bonds that unite these neighboring nations.
