Ferran torres to PSG: barcelona’s stance on potential transfer
The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are in advanced talks to sign Spanish forward Ferran Torres, following Gonçalo Ramos’ departure to AC Milan on June 30. PSG, in need of a reliable striker, have reportedly reached a preliminary agreement with the player, who is under contract with FC Barcelona until June 2027. But how does the Catalan club view this potential move?
Gonçalo Ramos, who spent three seasons at PSG, completed his transfer to AC Milan for a fee close to €74 million. This departure leaves a significant gap in the French side’s attacking lineup, prompting their interest in Torres.
PSG’s pursuit of Torres gains momentum
According to insider reports, PSG and Ferran Torres have already agreed in principle on a five-year deal. The move would see the Spanish international join the Ligue 1 giants, pending final approval from FC Barcelona. But the Catalan club has not yet given the green light.
Barcelona’s response: Torres stays put
FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta, speaking in Dallas ahead of the World Cup semifinal between France and Spain, addressed the ongoing transfer speculation. “I’ve heard about the rumors surrounding Ferran Torres’ potential move to PSG, but we have not yet received any official confirmation,” Laporta stated. “He is a Barcelona player, one of the 14 athletes currently at the World Cup with us. Ferran is exceptionally talented—every time he steps onto the pitch, he poses a real threat. His assist to Merino was outstanding. Regardless, we have an incredible squad here at the World Cup, which is why I am present myself.”
The president’s remarks suggest Barcelona remains firmly committed to retaining Torres, despite PSG’s strong interest.
