Gabon economic forum champions business success and national growth
“My aspiration is that tomorrow, the FEG will be recognized not only for defending businesses but, more importantly, for ensuring their success.”
This powerful sentiment was articulated by Alain Claude Kouakoua, President of the Fédération des entreprises du Gabon (FEG), during the opening ceremony of the second Gabon Economic Forum (GEF). The event convened on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the prestigious Palais des Congrès.
Indeed, this significant gathering, bringing together key decision-makers and global partners, serves as a crucial platform designed to tackle Gabon’s pressing economic hurdles.
As a pragmatic leader, the FEG President underscored the fundamental truth that robust enterprises are the indispensable engines of national prosperity, asserting that no country has ever truly developed without a strong business sector. For him, businesses are not peripheral players but central drivers of economic advancement.
Adding to this, Hugues Alexandre Barro Chambrier, Vice-President of the Republic, highlighted the government’s unwavering commitment to bolstering the private sector. He assured attendees that efforts to consolidate public finances would pave the way for prompt settlement of outstanding obligations to private enterprises, affirming, “The State will fulfill its part to ensure that the sanitation of public finances allows for timely resolution of what is owed to private companies.”
This engaging discourse signals a collective ambition: to forge a diversified Gabonese economy, diminishing its dependency on primary commodities and pivoting decisively towards industrialization.
Ultimately, this forum stands as a vital conduit for profound dialogue, essential for navigating Gabon’s economic landscape and realizing its ambitious growth targets.
