Abidjan has been a focal point for significant national developments, with recent highlights encompassing a heartfelt tribute to the President of the Republic in Kabadougou, the announcement of a substantial investment for the third phase of the Baleine oil field, and the ongoing preparations for the 80th anniversary celebration of the PDCI-RDA.
The presidential tour through the Kabadougou region culminated in a profound acknowledgment of the Head of State’s development initiatives. This period was hailed as a “decade of transformation” for Kabadougou, characterized by remarkable progress in vital infrastructure, road networks, and educational facilities. Vice-Prime Minister Téné Birahima Ouattara underscored this progress, emphasizing that “development is not merely a matter of chance.”
Further underscoring the regional appreciation, the Head of State received widespread commendation in Kabadougou, where Téné Birahima Ouattara inaugurated several crucial new infrastructures. This reinforced President Ouattara’s stated ambition to actively diminish regional disparities across the nation.
On the economic front, the impending third phase of the Baleine oil field has garnered considerable attention. Côte d’Ivoire and its international partners have jointly revealed plans for a significant investment in this hydrocarbon venture.
Specifically, the realization of Baleine oil field’s phase 3 involves a substantial commitment of 4 billion dollars from key players Eni, Petroci, and Vitol. This monumental project is set to significantly bolster Côte d’Ivoire’s energy sector.
Meanwhile, preparations are in full swing for the PDCI-RDA’s 80th-anniversary celebration, scheduled to take place in Abengourou. Amoikon Banga, President of the organizing committee (PCO), indicated that Abengourou is gearing up for a powerful display of unity and strength, with the grand ceremony slated for May 30.
The Indénié-Djuablin region is actively preparing for a robust turnout for the PDCI-RDA’s milestone anniversary. Amoikon Banga anticipates the mobilization of over 10,000 militants, promising a formidable event.
