Following Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea this past Tuesday, head coach Roberto De Zerbi made a significant declaration. He asserted that Sunday’s pivotal Premier League fixture against Everton, which is crucial for the club’s top-flight status, holds greater significance than any past silverware. De Zerbi’s comments implicitly contrasted the upcoming relegation battle with Tottenham’s Europa League triumph from the previous season.
