France and Côte d’Ivoire defence chiefs open new chapter in strategic partnership at Eurosatory
On the sidelines of the Eurosatory 2026 international defence exhibition held in France, Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Téné Birahima Ouattara was received in audience on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, by his French counterpart, Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu. This high-level meeting marks a fresh step in strengthening cooperation ties between Abidjan and Paris.

They also explored new avenues for collaboration to address current and future security challenges facing both nations, while contributing to regional stability.
This meeting carries particular significance as it marks the first direct engagement between Téné Birahima Ouattara and Sébastien Lecornu since they assumed their current roles.
