One in five Sahelians struggled with hunger last year
The latest Global Food Security and Nutrition Report paints a grim picture across Africa, with the Sahel region bearing the brunt. In 2025, nearly 20% of households in this fragile belt faced acute food shortages—a crisis that has worsened over the past 15 years.
