Gabon’s 7mp party deepens territorial presence alongside oligui nguema
After a 20-day tour across all nine provinces of Gabon, founding president of the Party for the 7 Wonders of the Gabonese People (7MP), Joël Ngoueneni Ndzengouma, presented the results of a mission that went beyond simple grassroots engagement. The tour focused on restructuring local branches, recounting active members, and strengthening the Movement Oligui Nguema 100% (MON 100%). This effort underscores the 7MP’s determination to solidify its position within the presidential majority under the Fifth Republic.
From June 4 to 23, 2026, Ndzengouma travelled across the country to meet party militants, supporters, local leaders, and citizens. At a press conference held at the 7MP headquarters in Libreville, he explained that the tour was part of a strategy to revitalise the political party and consolidate support for President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema. Founded in 2010, the 7MP now positions itself as a party within the presidential movement. The MON 100%, launched in February 2025, was created to back reforms initiated by the head of state and to mobilise citizens around his agenda.
A tour focused on political restructuring
Beyond meeting the population, the mission aimed to reorganise the party’s structures nationwide. Party leadership oversaw a recount of active members, registered new members, identified new local leaders, and strengthened provincial coordination. The MON 100% also used the tour to expand its presence across all nine provinces, with the goal of uniting more citizens behind the president’s vision.
For Ndzengouma, the tour took place against the backdrop of implementing the institutions of the Fifth Republic. Discussions with militants reaffirmed the 7MP’s role as a political force committed to the head of state and supporting the reforms initiated since the Transition. This effort is part of a broader reshaping of Gabon’s political landscape, where several parties are working to strengthen their territorial presence following presidential, legislative, and local elections.
A future focused on the field
Following the mission, the 7MP announced several actions to continue its development: reinforcing provincial coordinations, multiplying citizen meetings, structuring the MON 100%, and setting up a permanent mechanism to collect the concerns of the population.
Beyond the organisational outcomes, the tour represents a step in the 7MP’s strategy to secure its place within the presidential majority and support the political direction of the Fifth Republic, while seeking to enhance its presence among the people across the entire national territory.
