High security trial of Succès Masra at N’Djamena supreme court
This morning, the Supreme Court in N’Djamena is under tight security as National Guard, gendarmerie, and police units maintain a strong presence throughout the premises.
Entry to the court complex is tightly controlled, with journalists and camera crews denied access to the main hearing room.
A closed-door hearing unfolds
The public trial is taking place in a smaller, restricted chamber of the Supreme Court. The session brings the court’s president face to face with a team of nearly a dozen defense attorneys representing Dr. Succès Masra, leader of the Les Transformateurs party.
Legal challenge targets 20-year sentence
The hearing centers on the cassation appeal filed against the August 9, 2025 ruling from the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal, which imposed a 20-year prison sentence on Dr. Succès Masra.
