The Collectif des descendants de Serigne Touba has formally filed a lawsuit against political figure Ousmane Sonko, citing allegations of false information dissemination and defamation.

Legal representation in this case is being handled by Me Aboubacry Barro, as confirmed through public statements. The legal action follows a series of public remarks attributed to Ousmane Sonko, in which he alleged that:

• « Significant sums of money have recently been channeled to Touba, funds that belong to the nation and were obtained unlawfully. »
• He further claimed these financial resources « were not intended for political purposes » but would instead be used to meet « political demands. »

At the heart of the dispute lies the interpretation of monetary flows linked to Touba, a city of major religious significance in Sénégal.
