Luther Meka outraged by Mamadou Mota’s French: a massacre of Lamartine’s language

André Luther Meka, spokesperson for the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (RDPC), expressed outrage over the language proficiency of Mamadou Mota, vice-president of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (MRC).

This reaction followed Mota’s appearance on Sunday, June 28, 2026, on the show “La Vérité en face” on Equinoxe TV.

“I watched the program ‘La Vérité en face’ on Equinoxe TV via YouTube with great interest. I am appalled by Mamadou Mota’s massacre of the French language, his lack of skill in morphosyntax, and his poor command of concepts. It was a true butchery of the language of Ronsard and Lamartine. The peak of mediocrity was displayed on the small screen last Sunday. Good heavens!” wrote Luther Meka on his social media platforms.

During the show, Mamadou Mota defended the return of Maurice Kamto as president of the MRC, despite internal dissent fueled by figures such as Willy Mengue.
