Mali: Army Claims to Have Killed Over 100 Militants in North
Major Operation Against JNIM and FLA Fighters
The Malian army announced on Thursday that it had killed over 100 armed men during military operations carried out, in coordination with its partners, in the Anfif and Tabrachat regions in the north of the country.
The army specified that these operations targeted fighters belonging to the ‘Al-Nusra for Islam and Muslims’ group and the ‘Front for the Liberation of Azawad’, adding that 13 aerial strikes also destroyed six combat vehicles and a pickup truck.
According to the army, these operations took place on Tuesday, and said it was continuing its military campaign against armed groups in various regions of the country, emphasizing the commitment of its forces to carry out these operations ‘with discipline and firmness’, in coordination with its partners.
The African Corps published a statement saying that these operations destroyed and set ablaze a large number of vehicles belonging to militants, adding that one drone belonging to them targeted another vehicle carrying munitions and military equipment.
The Russian Corps in Africa stated that these operations fit into the framework of what it called ‘fruitful joint operations’ carried out with Malian armed forces against regional militant groups, affirming that it would continue to target militant positions and equipment.
