Niger has officially initiated its departure from the International Criminal Court (ICC), citing what it describes as a practice of selective justice by the Hague-based institution. The West African nation formalized its stance on Monday by sending a letter to the United Nations. This action sets in motion the official withdrawal procedure from the Rome Statute, the treaty that established the court.
