PSG sets sights on Folarin Balogun following Gonçalo Ramos move to AC Milan

Paris Saint-Germain has officially completed its first summer transfer by selling Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan. The departure leaves a gap at centre-forward, and the club is now exploring options, with Folarin Balogun emerging as a surprising target.

As expected, Gonçalo Ramos has signed for AC Milan. PSG confirmed the move in an official statement: “After three seasons at Paris Saint-Germain and no fewer than 12 trophies won, including two consecutive Champions League titles, Gonçalo Ramos has joined AC Milan on a permanent transfer.” The Portuguese striker has committed to the Italian club until 2031, leaving a void that PSG now looks to fill through another signing.

PSG considering Balogun

According to my sources, PSG has activated a rather unexpected lead. The Parisian side is showing interest in Folarin Balogun. Last season, the American international was AS Monaco‘s top scorer with 19 goals in 43 appearances, and he continued his form during the World Cup played on home soil with the United States. Luis Campos and his recruitment team are particularly drawn to the 24-year-old’s profile, which boasts solid Ligue 1 experience thanks to his stints at Reims and Monaco.

Monaco open to selling

For the moment, PSG has not taken any concrete steps, but if the situation evolves, AS Monaco would likely not block a sale of Folarin Balogun. The club faces financial difficulties after missing out on Champions League qualification. Balogun is one of three players Monaco has placed on the market, alongside Lamine Camara and Maghnes Akliouche—the latter also being tracked by PSG. This could allow the capital club to secure a double deal in Monaco, though Tottenham and Chelsea are also in the race for Balogun.
