The 2026 Morocco-India Economic Forum successfully convened in Rabat on Monday. This significant event was orchestrated by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (CCISRSK), working in close collaboration with the Embassy of India in the Kingdom and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

This high-profile gathering brought together a distinguished Indian delegation, comprising 21 prominent business leaders from key strategic sectors, alongside various Moroccan economic stakeholders. The primary objective was to explore avenues for establishing enduring partnerships and fostering mutually beneficial investment opportunities between the two nations.

During the forum, Hassan Sakhi, President of the CCISRSK, emphasized that the deep-rooted friendship between Morocco and India has blossomed into a robust, diverse, and continuously expanding economic partnership.

In a statement delivered on his behalf, Sakhi highlighted that high-level ministerial initiatives and the various memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed across strategic sectors underscore the dynamic political relationship shared by Morocco and India.

He further noted that the presence of an Indian business delegation, representing diverse sectors such as automotive, agriculture, information technology, healthcare, and energy, clearly indicates the increasing interest of Indian investors in the Moroccan market.

The vitality of bilateral exchanges is particularly evident in the substantial volume of economic trade between the two countries, Sakhi pointed out. He stressed Morocco’s firm commitment to further enhancing this momentum, recognizing India as a crucial trade partner possessing extensive technological and industrial expertise.

Meanwhile, Mohan Puri, who led the CII delegation, expressed his conviction that both countries possess the capacity to forge a powerful partnership that could connect India, Morocco, and the wider African continent. He specifically lauded the Kingdom’s significant potential and extensive capabilities.

Puri commended the numerous opportunities available in Morocco, particularly within the renewable energy, green hydrogen, aviation, defense, and digital technologies sectors. He underscored that Morocco provides an ideal platform for companies from both nations to implement joint projects and advance technological development.

The forum’s proceedings included the screening of an institutional video, showcasing the economic strengths and investment prospects of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region. This was complemented by a documentary detailing Morocco’s business climate and the latest updates to its investment charter.

A memorandum of understanding was also formally signed, aiming to bolster commercial exchanges, investments, and industrial collaborations between India and the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region.

The forum concluded with a dedicated networking session and a series of B2B meetings, facilitating direct interactions between members of both delegations.
