Bénin: president romuald wadagni unveils his inaugural cabinet
Just hours after taking his oath of office, President Romuald Wadagni officially constituted his first government by signing Decree No. 2026-314 on May 24, 2026. This new governmental team features twenty-two ministers and three delegated ministers. Additionally, Wilson Gakpéto was appointed Secretary General of the Government through a separate decree. The details of this significant decree were publicly presented by Aristide DJIDJOHO, the Secretary General of the Presidency.

Yvon Détchénou assumes the vital role of Keeper of the Seals, Minister of Justice and Legislation.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance, responsible for cooperation, is led by Aristide Médenou.
Corinne Amori Brunet takes charge as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Reporting directly to the President of the Republic, Djibril Mama cissé Moussa serves as the Delegated Minister for Interior and Public Security.
Another delegated minister reporting to the President, Gildas Agonkan, is responsible for National Defense.
Olushegun Adjadi Bakari heads the Ministry of Tourism and Foreign Trade, also overseeing Industry and Private Investment Promotion.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries is entrusted to Ady Yéton Bloukounon Goubalan.
Benjamin Hounkpatin is appointed Minister of Health.

Furthermore, President Wadagni issued a separate decree, Number 315, formally naming Wilson Gakpéto as the Secretary General of the Government.
