Benin’s president romuald wadagni embarks on diplomatic visit to Ouagadougou
President Romuald Wadagni of Bénin landed in Ouagadougou on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 2, 2026, commencing an official friendship and working visit to Burkina Faso.
Upon his arrival at Ouagadougou International Airport, he was warmly greeted by Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Faso. The two heads of state observed the playing of their respective national anthems before reviewing military honors, underscoring the significance of this diplomatic engagement.

Following the formal welcoming ceremony, the Burkinabè and Beninese presidents engaged in a private, one-on-one discussion held within the airport’s distinguished VIP lounge, setting the tone for their bilateral talks.

The two leaders then proceeded to the Koulouba Presidential Palace, where a comprehensive working session is scheduled to further their discussions on strengthening Burkina Bénin cooperation and regional ties.
