The minister of Communication and government spokesperson, René Emmanuel Sadi, addressed the nation in a recent statement, declaring, « The president is alive. » He also confirmed that Paul Biya would return to Cameroon soon, though no exact date was provided.

This marks the first official response from Cameroonian authorities regarding the prolonged absence, which has prompted opposition figures to question the president’s ability to fulfill his duties. Sadi firmly rejected these concerns, emphasizing, « There is no power vacuum. » He stressed that Paul Biya remains in office and has neither resigned nor abandoned his responsibilities.
