The Government of Chad has suspended operations of the China National Petroleum Corporation International (CNPCI), a state-owned Chinese oil company, in mid-August due to violations of national environmental regulations. The decision was immediately followed by an announcement from the Minister of Petroleum to conduct a comprehensive audit of all oil companies operating within the country’s borders.
