Chelsea Football Club has confirmed the signing of England international Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, marking a major coup for the Blues ahead of the new season.

The 23-year-old attacking talent has committed to a long-term deal at Stamford Bridge, keeping him at the club until 2033. Rogers is set to join Xabi Alonso’s squad as the Premier League transfer window heats up.

Rogers arrives at Chelsea after establishing himself as one of English football’s most promising young forwards. His contributions at Aston Villa were significant—40 goals and assists in 85 Premier League appearances helped propel the Villans to fourth place in the league and secured victory in last season’s Europa League.

Since making his senior England debut in November 2024, Rogers has become a regular starter for the Three Lions, earning 22 caps and playing a key role in the national team’s third-place finish at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Multiple reports indicate the transfer fee paid by Chelsea stands at €117 million, positioning it as the second most expensive deal in Premier League history—just behind Alexander Isak’s €125 million move from Newcastle to Liverpool last summer.

Arsenal had initially been the frontrunner in the race for Rogers, but Chelsea’s swift intervention ensured the player would join their ranks instead. The club celebrated the signing on social media with a video of Rogers, simply captioned: ‘He chose Chelsea.’
