The prospect of watching a Ligue 1 match for free, available to all, every single week, is now a topic of serious discussion. This exciting possibility stems from an amendment to the proposed law aimed at reforming professional sports in France.

The National Assembly is currently reviewing this significant legislative proposal today, which could transform how French football fans engage with their favorite sport.

Under the current system, enthusiasts wishing to follow Ligue 1 action must subscribe to the Ligue1+ platform, which costs a minimum of 15 euros per month. This subscription service currently boasts approximately 1 million subscribers.

Naturally, this potential shift to free, over-the-air broadcasting of a weekly match has generated considerable enthusiasm among French football supporters, as reported by Grégoire Morelli.
