Mali’s top hadith memorizers selected for international competition
The Malian branch of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Scholars organized the national preliminary round of the prestigious Nabawi Acharif Hadith Memorization Competition on June 27, 2026, at its headquarters in Banankabougou. After a grueling day of challenges, three outstanding contestants earned the right to represent Mali in the upcoming international final, where winners from 49 nations will compete.
This competition aligns perfectly with the recommendations set forth by the High Council of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Scholars. The preliminary round brought together 50 participants from diverse Quranic schools and memorization centers across Bamako and other regions of the country.
Through this initiative, the foundation seeks to inspire African youth to embrace the prophetic teachings at the heart of Islamic tradition. The primary goal is to foster values of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and the balanced approach advocated in these sacred texts.
