Togo honors 107 university professors with titular promotions

The long-awaited resolution has arrived. Following weeks of campus protests in Lomé, the government officially announced on Thursday during a Council of Ministers meeting the promotion of 107 associate professors in public universities to the rank of Full Professors.

The groundswell of promotions comes in response to the July 2nd mobilisation by teacher-researchers at the University of Lomé. By formalising these advancements in the academic hierarchy, authorities aim to acknowledge outstanding scientific contributions and pedagogical dedication at Togo’s leading institutions: the University of Lomé and the University of Kara.
