Waly Diouf Bodian, a senior figure in Pastef, has strongly responded to recent remarks by Professor Mary Teuw Niane concerning verbal violence and respect in public discourse. The political activist criticises the former higher education minister for a lack of consistency following attacks aimed at Pastef leader Ousmane Sonko.

Bodian outright rejects the academic’s appeals for calm and questions his institutional stance. “After calling President Ousmane Sonko an impostor, Mary Teuw Niane now lectures us on morality, verbal violence, and respect for others. It is too late, Professor,” Bodian stated. Continuing his rebuke, he added: “Your literary nonsense on Sundays no longer works with us patriots. We do not respect those who do not respect Ousmane Sonko.” He concluded by accusing Mary Teuw Niane of straying from national values and aligning with those in power.
