This call for reconciliation comes amidst persistent online reports over the past week, suggesting that the Ceuta border crossing between Morocco and Spain would officially reopen on Saturday, August 15. However, authorities from both countries have issued statements confirming that new measures have been implemented. These protocols are specifically designed to prevent any renewed large-scale influx of migrants.

The updated border management strategies follow a significant event in late July, when approximately 72,000 individuals entered Spain through Ceuta. Following this substantial movement, nearly all of these individuals were subsequently repatriated to Morocco, underscoring the dynamic and often complex nature of border control in the region.
