Mr. Jean Pierre HILLAH, the newly appointed Governor of Lions Club International District 403-A2, initiated his official tour of the district’s four member states in Côte d’Ivoire. His visit commenced on Monday, August 31, 2026, where he was received by Dr. Souleymane DIARRASSOUBA, the Minister of Planning and Development, at his office.

District 403-A2 encompasses Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, with five distinct regions situated within Ivorian territory. Lions Club International’s primary focus areas include strengthening youth capabilities and championing environmental protection.

The esteemed organization formally affirmed its dedication to supporting the implementation of Côte d’Ivoire’s National Development Plan (PND) for the 2026-2030 period.

The Minister of Planning and Development underscored the timely nature of this visit, emphasizing that Côte d’Ivoire had recently launched a new cycle for its National Development Plan.

The PND 2026-2030 encapsulates the vision of His Excellency President Alassane Ouattara, aiming to propel Côte d’Ivoire to the status of an upper-middle-income country by 2030.

Moreover, the Minister highlighted the substantial engagement of various partners rallying behind the PND 2026-2030, reiterating that governmental actions are strategically aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

The productive discussions have established a clear path for future cooperation, concentrating on vital sectors such as youth empowerment, healthcare, education, and environmental stewardship.
