Propos sur Ousmane Sonko : La journaliste Aïssatou Diop Fall convoquée par la Division spéciale de cybersécurité

Renowned journalist Aïssatou Diop Fall is currently facing legal repercussions following contentious comments she made regarding political figure Ousmane Sonko. Despite issuing public apologies, she has been officially summoned by the Special Cybersecurity Division to provide explanations to investigators.

The summons for Aïssatou Diop Fall to appear before the Special Cybersecurity Division (DSC) of the National Police was issued after the Public Prosecutor at the High Court of Dakar initiated an inquiry.

Reports indicate that the director of Public SN television channel is expected to meet with investigators this Monday. Her hearing will focus on remarks that ignited significant controversy across social media platforms and within the public sphere.

Investigating Aïssatou Diop Fall’s controversial statements

The core of the matter stems from a media appearance where the journalist expressed a desire for Ousmane Sonko, leader of the PASTEF party, to be abducted by terrorists. These inflammatory statements quickly drew widespread condemnation and criticism.

In response to the ensuing uproar, Aïssatou Diop Fall released a subsequent video, retracting her declarations and expressing deep regret for her words.

However, even with these public apologies, Public Prosecutor Ibrahima Ndoye proceeded to instruct the head of the Special Cybersecurity Division to issue the formal summons, ensuring she is questioned about the incident.
