Morocco elevates humanitarian aid as cornerstone of african cooperation

In a landmark address to the African Union (AU) Peace and Security Council (PSC), Morocco’s Permanent Representative to the AU and UNECA, Mohamed Arrouchi, underscored the nation’s commitment to humanitarian action as a vital pillar of its foreign policy and African cooperation. This strategic focus aligns with the forward-thinking vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who has positioned Morocco as a steadfast advocate for addressing humanitarian challenges across the continent.

Under the leadership of His Majesty, Morocco has intensified its efforts to mitigate humanitarian crises, regardless of their location in Africa. As the AU’s Champion on migration, the Kingdom has made it a priority to integrate humanitarian assistance into its diplomatic and development initiatives, ensuring no crisis is overlooked. Arrouchi’s statements during the PSC’s public session on refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and humanitarian aid in Africa reflected this unwavering dedication to alleviating suffering and fostering stability.
