Morocco recently underscored its unwavering commitment to bolstering the safeguarding of children impacted by armed hostilities across Africa. Before the African Union (AU) Peace and Security Council (PSC), the Kingdom emphasized the critical need for proactive measures to prevent child recruitment, ensure their safety, and facilitate their lasting reintegration into society.

During a pivotal AU PSC session dedicated to the “protection of child soldiers in Africa,” the Moroccan delegation highlighted that young individuals tragically remain among the most vulnerable casualties of persistent conflicts throughout the continent. They are frequently subjected to forced enlistment, brutal violence, and severe disruptions to their education, factors that profoundly jeopardize their long-term prospects and well-being.
