Niamey, July 27, 2026 – Consultations among key officials from the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) are actively progressing, coinciding with events marking the third anniversary of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (CNSP)’s rise to power. This Monday, Major General Mohamed Toumba, the Minister of State for Interior, Public Security, and Territorial Administration, convened a meeting with Bassolma Bazié, who serves as the President of the Burkinabè National Commission of the AES Confederation.

Mr. Bazié, currently visiting Niger to participate in the commemorative activities, paid a courtesy call to the Ministry of Interior. This significant encounter provided both prominent figures with an opportunity to engage in discussions concerning the critical issues currently uniting the member states of the AES Confederation.

During their discussions, Bassolma Bazié lauded the proactive security measures undertaken by the Nigerien government.
