Bénin 2060: education council bets on science and vocational training

According to Clément Chabi, Executive Secretary of the National Education Council (CNE), the nation’s sustainable growth hinges on investing in youth, research, and human capital development. He emphasized that scientific and technical training will be instrumental in driving innovation and technological sovereignty.

Shaping educational policy for 2060

The assembly serves as a platform for evaluating past recommendations and refining strategies to meet the Vision 2060 objectives. The CNE, composed of 69 members from public and private sectors, is tasked with overseeing the implementation of educational reforms and ensuring alignment with national priorities.

Noël Ahonangnon Gbaguidi, President of the CNE, underscored the council’s mandate to define educational guidelines, coordinate system-wide improvements, and monitor policy execution. The three-day session will review progress on previous recommendations while exploring ways to enhance teaching quality and foster industry-academia partnerships.
