As part of the ongoing monitoring of significant national road network modernization initiatives, Georges Alé, the Minister of Living Environment and Transport, conducted an inspection tour last Tuesday across three crucial construction sites. His visit underscored the importance of technical excellence, environmental protection, public health considerations, and strict adherence to contractual timelines.

The ministerial delegation’s initial stop was at the Djonou bridge, situated within the Abomey-Calavi commune. Here, all dredging operations have been successfully completed. This vital intervention has cleared the waterway, ensuring improved stormwater drainage and enhancing the structural integrity and safety of the bridge itself.

Subsequently, the minister proceeded to the construction site for the 2×2 lane development along the Missessinto-Allada (RNIE2) stretch, a project undertaken by the joint venture SCET Tunisie / BECI BTP. While commending the satisfactory progress and momentum of the work, Georges Alé firmly reiterated the imperative of scrupulously following the agreed-upon schedule. His aim is to swiftly provide users with a modern and secure thoroughfare.

The inspection concluded at the Allada roundabout and the associated retention basins established in the area. Demonstrating keen attention to sanitation matters, the minister directed the technical teams to collaborate closely with the Ministry of Health. This proactive approach aims to anticipate and mitigate any potential health risks that could arise from stagnant water accumulation.
