After Sonko’s statement, which described the President as « manipulable », Dr Abdourahmane Diouf quickly fired back with a strongly worded response. In an article, he addressed the President of the National Assembly without mentioning his name, denouncing his attitude and stance.

When a languid deputy reaches the heights of the National Assembly; procedures pass over your head without you understanding their substance; the morality of analysis gets lost under the weight of intellectual vacuity; the truth yields to outrageous manipulation.
