Maganga Moussavou pledges support for oligui nguema’s vision

Following President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema’s state of the nation address, Pierre-Claver Maganga Moussavou, leader of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) and former vice president, shared his thoughts. He commended the speech for emphasizing action, responsibility, and a shift in mindset. According to him, the head of state renewed his commitment to the Gabonese people, urging citizens to take full control of their destiny and reclaim the country’s economic levers.

Maganga Moussavou views this vision as worthy of support, particularly regarding opportunities for youth. He praised the mechanisms introduced through the Bank for Commerce and Entrepreneurship of Gabon (BCEG), calling them essential tools to foster private initiative and economic self-reliance. “I align with the president’s message,” he stated, while expressing hope that the announced commitments will translate into concrete actions that benefit the population.

A critical backing

Acknowledging the numerous challenges facing the new authorities, the PSD leader said the president’s mission is particularly complex given the high expectations of Gabonese citizens. However, he believes the reforms initiated since August 30, 2023, provide a foundation for the country to build new momentum. He stressed that only collective mobilization can overcome the economic, social, and institutional hurdles confronting Gabon.

Describing himself as a “lucid opponent,” Maganga Moussavou reaffirmed his readiness to support any initiative that serves the general interest. “He can count on me in his mission,” he declared, assuring that he is willing to put his experience at the service of nation-building. Beyond political differences, he called for responsible cooperation to foster national development and meet the aspirations of the Gabonese people.
