Morocco-Philippines: building on 50 years of diplomatic relations

The relationship between Morocco and the Philippines stands on a significant foundation, ripe for further development across various strategic sectors, affirmed Leslie Baja, the Philippine Ambassador to Rabat. He lauded the five decades of diplomatic engagement between the two nations, a milestone celebrated just last year.

Ambassador Baja elaborated that both countries have navigated a rich trajectory marked by high-level exchanges, the signing of numerous agreements, and the cultivation of robust human connections. He views these as fundamental pillars for the next half-century of bilateral cooperation.

From an economic standpoint, the Philippine diplomat observed a notable expansion in bilateral trade volumes over recent years. He pointed out that commerce between Morocco and the Philippines has seen an increase of approximately 50%, although the current figures are still below the aspirations held by both parties.
