The President of the National Assembly, Ousmane Sonko, expressed his deep sadness following the passing of Serigne Abdou Bakhi Mbacké, a revered religious guide from Guinguinéo.

Le président de l’Assemblée nationale, Ousmane Sonko, a exprimé sa profonde tristesse à la suite du décès de Serigne Abdou Bakhi Mbacké, khalife de la famille Khassim Mbacké de Guinguinéo, rappelé à Dieu ce jeudi 9 juillet 2026.

President Sonko paid tribute to the late guide, recalling their numerous encounters during his visits to Guinguinéo. He praised the deceased’s warm welcome and benevolent nature, which had a profound impact on their interactions.

« C’est avec une profonde émotion et une grande tristesse que j’ai appris le rappel à Dieu de Serigne Abdou Bakhi Mbacké, Khalife de la famille Khassim Mbacké de Guinguinéo », a-t-il déclaré.

President Sonko also highlighted the qualities of the deceased, recalling how he had shown affection and kindness during their meetings.

« À chacune de ces rencontres, il nous a témoigné une affection particulière, un accueil chaleureux et une bienveillance qui nous avaient profondément marqués », a souligné Ousmane Sonko.

In this time of mourning, President Sonko extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, the Khalifa General of Mourides, the Guinguinéo religious community, and the entire Sénégalese people.

« Qu’Allah, dans Son infinie miséricorde, lui accorde Son pardon et l’accueille dans Son Paradis éternel », a-t-il prié.
