A recent address by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye strongly suggests a direct message aimed at his former Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko. During the official launch of his new political party, KIIRAAY – Les Patriotes Républicains, the President delivered a pointed caution: « Fii, saa fitnë dootufi nanee ñeex ». This stark warning translates to: “Here, what was once tolerated will no longer be accepted.”
 
In his declaration, the founder of KIIRAAY – Les Patriotes Républicains emphasized Senegal’s enduring commitment to stability and peace. His pronouncement emerges amidst a period of escalating friction between the nation’s top two executive figures, coinciding with a realignment of the presidential majority and the establishment of the new political entity. 
 
This development follows months of publicly acknowledged disagreements between the head of state and his former government chief, characterized by divergent tones in their national addresses and the definitive split between the presidential coalition and Pastef. 
 
Notably, Ousmane Sonko, leader of Pastef, has also been actively engaged in a membership card drive with his party colleagues for several days.
