Manchester United’s major shareholder, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has taken a decisive stance to prevent Marcus Rashford from joining any of England’s top six Premier League rivals, despite the forward’s clear desire to leave Old Trafford this summer. Ratcliffe’s intervention comes after Rashford returned to Carrington for pre-season training following his loan spell at Barcelona, where he rediscovered some of his best form with 14 goals and 14 assists in 49 appearances. However, his future at Manchester United remains uncertain at best. While Ratcliffe is open to removing the 28-year-old from the club’s wage bill, he has made it equally clear that he will not approve transfers that would strengthen Premier League rivals like Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, or Tottenham Hotspur.

These restrictions extend beyond permanent moves, as United’s leadership has also rejected loan requests from clubs including Aston Villa.
