On Thursday, July 30, 2026, in Lomé, the Togolese Prime Minister Faure Gnassingbé held a high-level meeting with Luiz Ivaldo Villafañe Gomes Santos, Brazil’s ambassador to Togo. The Brazilian envoy presented an overview of the current state of relations between Lomé and Brasília, highlighting key areas where collaboration could be intensified. He emphasized Brazil’s eagerness to expand this partnership for the mutual benefit of both populations.

The discussions also explored ways to invigorate South-South cooperation, focusing on shared experiences, solidarity, and aligned interests between Brazil and African nations.
