Bradley Barcola’s future at PSG: a surprise contender joins arsenal and liverpool in transfer race

Another successful campaign concludes for Bradley Barcola at Paris Saint-Germain. Despite securing another Champions League title with the Parisian club, the talented winger did not feature in the final match of Europe’s premier club competition. With just two years remaining on his current deal, his future could potentially lie away from the French capital, as several prominent clubs are reportedly vying for the French international’s signature.

Bradley Barcola has spent three seasons collaborating with Paris Saint-Germain since his acquisition. The 23-year-old talent, who joined from Olympique Lyonnais in the summer of 2023 for a reported €45M plus an additional €5M in bonuses, is a significant topic of discussion for the PSG leadership. Similar to Ousmane Dembélé, the French international’s contract is set to expire on June 30, 2028, with the Parisian institution. Indications suggest that approaches from Liverpool are already making an impression on Barcola’s camp.

Multiple destinations for Bradley Barcola?

This intense interest comes amidst a lack of significant progress in resolving his contractual situation with Paris Saint-Germain over recent months. Beyond the Reds, Arsenal’s management team has shown particular interest in the forward, who perfectly aligns with the Gunners’ recruitment criteria for this summer as they look to strengthen the left-wing position in Mikel Arteta’s squad. Furthermore, reports indicate that a third club, whose identity remains undisclosed, has joined Arsenal and Liverpool in the pursuit of the French national team attacker. Barcola is also set to experience his inaugural World Cup with the French squad on American soil between June 11 and July 19.

PSG’s firm stance: retention is key

Nevertheless, there’s a strong possibility that PSG will actively resist any potential moves for Barcola. Insights from Laurent Perrin, a journalist, during a Q&A session with the capital’s daily readers, suggested that Bradley Barcola is expected to remain with Paris Saint-Germain. He noted, “I don’t see why Barcola would leave. We know that immense clubs like Liverpool, Barcelona, or Bayern are ready to offer him a golden bridge, but discussions to extend his contract beyond 2028 will resume. PSG wants to keep him; he is an extremely important player, the best performer in the first half of the season.”
